When the boys are away the girls will Play!

Today was the long awaited father and son's campout. Tyce has been asking everyday "is today Friday"? The other day Dallin brought home a spiderman fishing pole for Tyce and he loved it. He imediately started casting it "in our house" (thank goodness for vaulted ceilings and an open entry way). He surprised Dallin and I with his great casts, one of which nearly hit the missionaries as it flew out our open door where they were standing. We told him that he is suppose to catch "fish" not "fisher's of men" ha ha! Anyway so when him and Dallin were heading out the door Presley of course started to cry. So I was trying to bribe her. I said Presley we can go buy you a new baby. Do you want a baby? She said "NO"! A purse? "NO"! Some make-up? "YES" she said as she instantly stopped crying and her face lit up with excitement. What am I going to do with this girl?? She already begs me to put on make-up and deodorant and perfume and ...... well the list goes on and on. Around 5:30 we ventured to the nearest Wal-mart. We first ate dinner at subway and then started to shop. Luckily since we were only shopping at wal-mart and not the mall (which I would have preferred) I only got deodorant for myself and the rest was for Presley. I had so much fun spending time alone with her . Well actually Kensley was with us too, but she hardly makes a peep when were out and about so it kinda felt like we were alone. You could tell Presley enjoyed this "girls trip" as well. She even got to swipe the debit card and enter the pin # for me. I'm glad Tyce was able to go with Dallin and have some fun, camping and fishing. He sure does love his daddy. He always tells me "mom I love my daddy. He's my favorite" or " mom my daddy's my best friend ever". Even though I want to be his "favorite" and his "best friend ever" I still think it is so cute and I'm glad he loves his dad. Why wouldn't he love the man who ....... he looks like, adore's him, can play swords with him and I mean (over the toilet), wrestles with or as Tyce says "dad let's play Rough", garden's with, mow's the lawn with, play's ball with, would spend every minute with him if he could and takes him everywhere he can with him (even if it's suppose to be "our" date night) I still love you babe. Dallin loves this boy so much and I hope their relationship will always be this strong. I hope we will all have great memories from here on out from our father's and son's outings.

Birthday Girl!

Guess who turned 2! Our smiley, sweet, sassy, summer sault rolling, twinkle twinkle little star singing, shoe loving girl named Presley. Her birthday was the day after Valentine's day and we had a few of her friends/cousins over for cake and ice cream. Dallin and I got her a princess scooter so she wouldn't have to fight over her big brothers. We also got her first dress up set. Which included a pink tinkerbell dress, a crown with earings and a ring which we used to put on the cake for a little decoration. As we sang her happy birthday she sang along the entire song. She was all smiles and was even able to blow out the candles all by herself. After opening each of her presents she would bounce up and down on the chair and scream with excitement. It was so fun to watch. She is one funny little girl and full of personality. I love having her in our family. I love you Presley and hope you had a fun birthday.

I turned the big 26!

On Feb. 11th for my Birthday Dallin, Tyce, his sister Nikki and I went to the NBA jam session. The opening day was for season ticket holders only and Dallin's dad gave us his tickets. We had a fun time. They had a DJ playing my kind of music (hip-hop) which I loved, and a ton of basketball events. We spent most the time in the "kid zone" since we had Tyce with us. They had a couple bouncers for them to play on and several different games all including basketball which i have mentioned before is Tyce's favorite sport. He had a blast.

There was a line of people cheering us on and giving us high five's as we entered the jam session. It seemed like the line was like 1/2 mile long. We felt like celebrities :)
Tyce thought this was the coolest place ever. This little hoop was his favorite. He would have stayed here all night long. This boy dribbles the ball so good and he has a great shot! He must get his skills from his mom j/k. Dallin I know he learns from the best which i must say you are.
Dallin played a shooting game where they put 3 seconds on the clock, they start the timer and the announcer calls out a letter. You must then find the letter, run to it , he passes you the ball and then you have to shoot it before the buzzer goes off. Dallin shoots and swishes it and may I add looked SEXY while doing it. He was only one of a few who actually made his shot. He won this headband and gave it to Tyce. They were both happy.

Presley's quest to Escape Out of the crib!!

Okay this is a little sad and sweet at the same time. We still have Presley in her crib, I know she is almost 2 already but it makes it alot easier because she's locked in and I don't worry about her falling down the stairs in the middle of the night. Lately Tyce has been trying to teach her how to climb out. So about 2 weeks ago I put her down for a nap and Tyce, Kensley and me went to lay down. I'm closing my eyes and I hear "mom"! Sure enough she finally figured out how to climb out of her crib. She continued to do this for naps and bedtime for about a week. So I finally decided to lock her door. Well for about 2 nights she climbed out and would just be crying at the door. So I would open it and say "Presley get in your bed", and I would lift her in her crib. I would have to do this about 4 times before she would finally go to sleep. So about a week ago I put her down to bed at her usual bed time which is 7:30. Dallin and I were watching T.V. and she did the usual, climbed out and tried opening the door, realized it was locked and she started to cry. She cried for about 2 minutes and then she was silent. Dallin was wondering why she wasn't crying anymore and wanted me to go see what she was doing. So I waited about 5 more minutes, went in her room and this is what I found...

...Sound asleep!! She climbed back into her crib all by herself and fell asleep. What a sweet girl, I couldn't believe she actually climbed back IN her crib especially when she has her toddler bed right next to her crib that she could have layed down on. She now has done this every night. Climbs out checks to see if the door is locked and then quietly climbs back into her crib. She has given up on the crying. This girl is such a sweetheart.

Monster Jam!!

On Saturday Dallin, me, Tyce and Presley went and watched the Monster Trucks. Dallin and I have been before but it was like six years ago. We decided to take the kids and make it a family date night!! They had fun. Presley got into it more then I thought she would. Tyce after about 20 minutes asked if he could go home and play Basketball (not surprising at all). He still had a fun time though. Grave Digger is the crowd favorite but I liked Backwards BOB. The truck looks like it is going in reverse when actually it isn't. They rearanged the steering system. It was pretty cool. We all had a great time together. Daddy spoils all of us!! We love him lots!!

Our trip to the ZOO

Last Monday since it was a holiday Dallin and I decided to take the kids to the zoo in Tucson. I have been to the phoenix zoo about three times with Tyce and Presley but Dallin has never got to go with the kids. I think he was more excited then them. Here are a few pictures of our trip to the ZOO!!

Tyce loved seeing all the animals.

Presley just kicking back and relaxing.

The Polar Bear was their favorite. You could look through a glass underground and watch him swim. They loved watching him roll around on a ball in the water.

Presley liked sitting on this Elephant.

Tyce is finally starting to actually smile for the camera. He is the cutest little boy.

They are the best of friends!! But still fight like brothers and sisters tend to do.

Kensley did so good! She didn't cry the entire four hours we spent there. She is a wonderful baby!

Dallin had a fun time with the kids. He is a great dad. They love him so much.

At 10:00 you can feed the Giraffe's for 1 dollar. The kids were a little hesitant. But can you blame them check out this things tongue.

This was such a fun trip. We love spending family time with the kids. Thank you Dallin for taking us to the ZOO!! We love you.

Soccer

Tyce started soccer about 3 weeks ago. We have him in a program at the YMCA called "itty bitty
sports". We put him in soccer and T-ball. He was excited to start playing sports with other boys, especially a kid in his sunbeam class named Michael. Dallin kept reminding him days prior that he was going to start practice. Tyce thought he was going to play Basketball (which is his favorite). He literally almost plays all day long. When we got to the field he kept telling Dallin "dad I want to play Basketball now". But he ended up having a good time. Then we went to take individual and team pictures and go figure we have to walk in through the Basketball courts which is being occupied by little boys. Yeah so Dallin didn't know they offered it for kids his age. Three is the cut off. He was begging daddy to let him play basketball, so we promised if he took pictures we would stay and let him watch the boys play. He loved that idea. This boy is absolutely CRAZY for basketball. He enjoys all sports though. Anything with a ball is fun to him. I really enjoyed watching him play soccer and can't wait to watch him play more. I love my little baller!!!

Best friend

This morning Tyce and I woke up and came down stairs. He took off his Pull-up and put on his spider man underwear then he says to me "mom I want to go to sleep with you" I reply but Tyce we just woke up. Why do you want to go to sleep. Then he says "cause your my best friend and I want to sleep with you". So sweet and innocent. He just wanted to sleep in my BED with me. And not in his bed by himself. He is starting to say the cutest funniest things. I love my big boy.

Three Months

Today was Kensley's three month checkup. She had to get shots and it was actually her first set, because I missed her two month appointment. I was anxious to see what percentile she was in because she is big, but she doesn't look as big as Presley did at this age. Presley's rolls on her arms were way more defined (like the Michelin guy's). So here is her stats. Drum roll please........... 13lb 7oz which puts her in the 95th percentile for weight and double what she weighed at birth. 23in which puts her in the 75th percentile for her height. I didn't get the measurements of her head but the doctor said it is in the 50th percentile. So we have one BIG baby girl. She is already following in her bigger brother and sisters footsteps . I don't know why I have such big babies. They start out pretty small and end up huge. They must drink good MILK!! She had to get six shots. One is liquid that she has to drink and the other five are combined into three. So she got three shots and she screamed her head off. But once I picked her up she calmed down. Tonight she's been pretty cranky. I think her poor little legs are hurting. So I gave her Tylenol and I'm hoping she starts to feel better. I love this little girl. She is such a good baby. Since about 2 months old she has been sleeping 7 to 8 hours straight through the night. My other two never did this, they would wake up every 2 to 3 hours. Then from there she eats about every 2 to 3 hours. The past couple weeks I've been cutting down on nursing. I'm trying to stop completely in the next week. She drinks 4oz of formula and loves it. She is wearing sz 1-2 Costco diapers and her 0-3 month clothes are starting to get snug. Time to pull out the 3-6 month. She still hasn't got the bald spot on the back of her head but I know it is coming. That is the one bad thing about a lot of dark hair. It makes it a lot more noticeable when you lose it. She smiles all the time at me and follows every move I make. I just LOVE love love babies.

A sweet adventure I will never forget!

On Thursday October 9th I went to my doctor's appointment for my 37 week checkup. The nurse gave me an exam and I was dilated to a 4 and 70% effaced and the nurse assured me I wasn't gonna make it another week. She said I would probably have this baby within a day or so. So Dallin and I came to an agreement to skip out on my brothers wedding reception up in Woodruff. On Friday October 17th one week and 1 day later still no baby. It was time for my 38 week check up and I got to see the doctor this visit I was still at 4, 70%. The doctor then told me the hospital wouldn't schedule an induction date since I wasn't 39 weeks or more. So he wanted me to come in Sunday the 20th tell them I was having contractions and he would keep me since he was on call that day. After the exam the contractions that I had been experiencing now for several weeks were starting to feel more like true contractions. I was having them about 20 minutes apart. Saturday October 18th Dallin and I decide to head into town to go shopping with his family. We went to Hobby Lobby and I walked around a little bit. Around 5:00 in the evening we asked his mom if she would watch the kids for us so we could go on one last date before the baby arrived. She of course said yes. Dallin said I got to choose the restaurant and movie, so I picked Outback Steakhouse and Flash of genius for the movie. While watching the movie my contractions picked up to 10 minutes apart. I was squeezing his leg to let him know how often they were coming and cause they hurt. So after the movie we went to pick up the kids and his mom was advising us to go to the hospital since we were already in town. Dallin thought they would just send me home since they were only 10 minutes apart and with our previous experiences with our other two kids. So we started going home with our 2 kids and his sister Nikki. As we were getting closer to our house my contractions were hurting bad. So he asked if he should head to the hospital. I said YES! We went to the closest hospital because he wanted to have a bed to sleep on. Well we got there at 12 midnight they checked my cervix and I was a 4/5 90% effaced, contractions still 10 minutes apart. At 1:00 am they told me I needed to go to the hospital where my doctor delivered (lame). Dallin wasn't in the room with me at this time cause he was trying to help his sister Nikki and Andie with our screaming children. So I called him on his cell phone told him what they said and he was pissed. I got out to the car and he thought we should just go home. He said "Sherry why should we go to another hospital if this one wouldn't take you?" I told him because I am hurting bad and they said "don't go home go to your hospital." He says " can't you just take Tylenol" I wanted to say a few bad words to him but I didn't. The hospital was ONLY 10 minutes away. We walked in at about 1:30 they put me in a triage room and I was still a 5 still 90% but my bag of water was starting to bulge. They took me to a delivery room hooked me up to antibiotics since I am GBS positive and I requested an epidural. It was 3:30am when the epidural was finally in, Dallin fell asleep right after. The nurse checked me again and I was the same. 30 minutes later at 4:00am I was feeling pressure and knew it was time. So I pushed the call button and the nurse came in. She checked me and said WOW! You were right. You do go fast. Let's call the doctor. I had to control the urge to push for 30 minutes. Then finally the young female doctor from Germany walked through the doors. She put her gear on I got myself ready and she broke my water. It took 2 easy pushes (thanks to the epidural) and she was out. The time was 4:38 am when Kensley Shea arrived, Crying to let the world know she was finally here.

Kensley's special day

This Sunday we blessed Kensley up in Heber. We decided to do it there since most of the family lives in that area and we were already up there for the holidays. I'm thankful for Our parents and all they do for us. They are all great examples for my children. Thank you mom and dad for bringing me up in this gospel and loving me unconditionally. You are the best parents anyone could have. I love my brothers and sisters and enjoy anytime we can spend together. I am so thankful for Dallin and the hard work he does for our family. I am thankful for the priesthood he holds and for the blessings he's givin to me and our children. I love his family, they are hilarious. We have some great times playing games together. Don't we girls!! I'm grateful to have the knowledge that our families can be together forever.

Newest addition to the Baum family

Kensley Shea weighed in at 6 pounds 14 ounces and was 19 inches long. Had a head full of dark hair and ten cute long toes.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Okay! So now you know if you didn't already. Yes I'm Pregnant. Again!! Why so soon might you be asking? Were asking the same question. This was not a planned pregnancy. We were wanting to wait till Presley was about 2. But sometimes I guess things just happen. Were proof that using protection doesn't always work. I told Dallin from now on were gonna start practicing abstinence. He didn't like that idea. He says if were only gonna have 4 kids we might as well just get it done and over with now. I laughed!! I'm now getting excited that we are gonna bring another child into this world. I love my kids more than anything and can't wait to give love to one more little girl. Hopefully her bigger brother Tyce will be a little softer to her than he is to Presley. Right now he thinks wrestling with her and sitting on her face is sooo fun, but this is definitely not Presley's favorite game. I'm hoping he will be out of that stage by then but I'm sure Presley will carry on the tradition for him. I know it is going to be challenging having 3 kids under the age of 3 especially since I only have 2 hands. Also having 3 kids in diapers isn't gonna be cheap or fun. But I know my Heavenly Father knows me and knows what I can or can't handle. And if I trust in him and turn to him in times of need he will help me along the way. By knowing this it brings me peace. So the reason why I waited forever to post this is cause we just told family this last weekend on our Baum family camping trip. Dallin thought it would be fun to announce that we were pregnant when we knew what the sex was gonna be. I didn't think I was gonna make it that long but since we really don't see family that often we thought it might work. So we said let's try it. We were doing really good at keeping this from them until 2 weeks ago. We had a tragic death in Dallin's family. His oldest sisters 3 year old girl was tragically killed. So we knew we were going to have to see everyone at the funeral. I asked Dallin how are we gonna hide this? I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and my belly is growing. Everyone is gonna be suspicious. He said we will just wait and see what happens. So we are around all his family and I notice a few people looking me up and down, I kept thinking please don't ask, please don't ask. This isn't the best time to announce a pregnancy. Luckily no one said a thing to me the whole weekend. When we announced on our camping trip they told us they were all a little suspicious. Thinking I was either pregnant or just putting on a little weight. So they weren't to surprised about the pregnancy but they didn't know I was as far along as I was, And that we already knew it was a girl. So at least that was a surprise. So now the cat is out of the bag to everyone who reads this. No more questioning or gossiping. Yes it's true. I am Pregnant. The good thing about waiting this long to announce is it seems to make the pregnancy go by faster. Which is always a good thing.

My San Francisco Treat

Okay! So I know it has been For....ever..... since I have posted anything. I kind of got tired of the whole blogging thing. So we will see if I can get a little better and post more frequently. Well since the last time I posted we have done a few things. In February for my birthday my wonderful husband flew me to San Francisco for a couple days and it was a blast. It was a surprise trip and it was so nice to be able to spend alone time with him. We went on a boat ride under the Golden Gate bridge and around Alcatraz. We ate at a very good restaurant on the Pier. They had the best clam chowder, I want to go back just for that, We also had crab legs very messy but good. It was our first time for the crab so the waitress had to show us how to use those metal things that you squeeze. Then we just had the usual Dr. Pepper. $100.00 later we were done. I couldn't believe it. Pretty pricey. But worth it. We also went to the wax museum and Ripley's Believe it or not museum. Then we went to Ghiradelli square where they are known for their delicious chocolate. We got some chocolate obviously and some ice cream. It was Yummy! Then we went to China town and walked thru the shops. Got a few knock off sunglasses and just some souvenirs. We also went down the most crooked street. It was literally like we were going down a roller coaster in our car. I'm sure people thought we were nuts. I had my whole body out the sun roof with a camcorder in my hand while narrating. I think Dallin was a little embarrassed he kept saying" okay why don't you just get in the car" "I think you got enough on film". I couldn't stop laughing. That was the main stops on our little vacation. But we had a lot of laughs and we enjoyed every minute being alone with one another.I was amazed not a single argument, not even over his driving (which is pretty impressive). We just had a lot of fun and spent lots of money. He spoiled me. But I guess he usually does. It felt like we were on our Honeymoon all over again. Well worth it. I will try to post pictures of this adventure soon.

Heaven Sent

After a very long day Presley fell asleep while taking pictures, so I wanted to capture how sweet she is when she's sleeping. This will probably always be one of my favorites.

Future Chef !!!

Tyce loves helping mom in the kitchen. Almost every morning he says "pa-cakes" and marches into the kitchen, sits up on our bar and waits impatiently for me to hand him the mixing bowl and spatula. He then helps add ALL the ingredients and he has to be the one to stir. He is now starting to help mom bless the food and he's doing pretty well for a 2 yr old. His favorite thing to bless is his daddy.

You would never know this by the picture, but tyce was a mess while trying to get pictures he would not cooperate for anything. Aunt Andie went to wetzel pretzels to try and bribe him, it worked long enough just to get a few good shots of him. I hate to admit to this but this was Tyce's very first professional picture, so how can I really complain.
